have anyone been able to keep CPS running even after their support contract has finished?
That is an interesting question. I know there is an online licensing mechanism that verifies the license periodically, so I suppose it is possible for them to disable or alter the functionality.
I suppose in some scenarios an entity would be interested in switching systems without migrating the data for a number of reasons. Leaving the data available for the requisite period of time in CPS could be viable in that case.

moving out of CPS but need to keep the server running.
moving to nexgen.
Thank you for the info.
It may depend on whether you worked with a VAR vs a direct contract. Have not experienced this but seems if you have your own servers, etc, then you should be able to keep it running after support ends. Obviously, if you required support, you wouldn't have it or they would bill you by the hour.
If the licensing process does block the use of Centricity after the licensing is terminated and if you are just wanting to use CPS for looking up old data, then the data still exists in the database. You could just build SQL Reports and put them out in SSRS and have people look up the needed information that way.
