How do you change what populates with the above yellow buttons? Can it be done through admin or is it in the background that someone ( from GE) needs to customize those buttons?
Check the CCC text-files for each specialty. CCCQE-User-Edit-ROS-Adult.txt and CCCQE-User-Edit-PE-Adult.txt are files for Adults.
You also could use the CCC-Text File Editor Encounter Form.
Not being IT oriented- could you tell me how to get to those files?
That's tougher without knowing your environment:
For the Encounter Form, just open a blank update and right-click>Insert Component. Essentially what the form does (assuming it's loaded( is create code for copying & pasting as which you would edit directly into the CCC text files. Click the yellow buttons.
To access the CCC files themselves, go to wherever your EMR client is installed (locally or on Citrix). Enter the CCC directory; about 1000 files are there. Once you know understand the files, then you really don't need the Encounter Form above.
If you have Centricity installed locally on a PC you can change these files on the C:\ drive without hurting anyone else. Definitely something you need to test and save with a backup copy before putting into production.
There's no shortcut towards learning CCC without just doing it or taking a class at CHUG. The original Version 8 User Manual has many, many more details, but it's also 130-pages long.
What James said except I would add that when you do the Insert Component, search for the word Edit and you will get all the forms that let you edit the various CCC files. You want the CCC Text File editor I believe. And some things have to be edited outside the EMR - there isn't a form to do it with.
Always make a copy of the CCC txt files before editing.
For example, if you think these are files you will be editing, make copies first!
CCCQE-User-Edit-ROS-Adult.txt
CCCQE-User-Edit-PE-Adult.txt
This way, if the editing "breaks" the CCC forms, you can restore your original copies.
James - do you have a copy of the original Version 8 User Manual that you could send me ? I have edited CCC forms but not in a long time, and it would be great to look at a manual.
