Is there any Crystal guru out there that could help me get a .rpt into GE to modify it? I have tried GE support and they sent me to the F1 help file but I am still having difficulty. Our state is starting to require the Pharmacy name/address on the form and it isn't currently on the report, I asked GE to add it but they pointed me to CHUG. We do have a crystal license, I just can't figure out how to import the original report into GE.
Thanks for any help or advice!!
Cindy
All the prescription templates (at least in the EMR world) live in the CRWRPTS directory on a client install. I'm assuming you are talking about prescriptions. They all start with PRESC and then the two letter abbreviation for each state and end with .rpt. Find the one for your state, copy it to your PC, edit it in Crystal Reports, then copy it via jobs.txt to all client installs and also manually to any Citrix/Terminal server client installs you may have.
If it isn't prescriptions it will still be in the same folder as these files and you will still need to copy, edit, and copy back out to all installs.
Once I copy it, how do I bring it into crystal to edit it? That's the part I'm struggling with.
Thanks!!
If you have Crystal Reports installed on your computer it should open by just double-clicking the file or inside Crystal doing a File, Open and finding your file. You should have something like Crystal Reports XI installed. Mine says Crystal Reports XI Release 2. This is something you would have had to purchase and install. GE doesn't provide it.
So it's not the crystal reports that is installed in GE reports module, run in server set-up? that we bought from GE...it requires the purchase of additional Crystal?
Yes, GE (to my knowledge) doesn't give you the tools to edit Crystal Reports. You must purchase that on your own. Here is some of the help from the EMR 9.5 Preparing and Maintaining guide:
Custom clinical reports Sometimes, physicians and other clinical personnel need information that is not available in predefined reports or in the desired format. While you cannot modify predefined clinical reports directly in Centricity EMR, you can customize reports or create new ones using Crystal Reports® Professional Edition, and then import them into the application. Refer to the guide for more information on converting custom reports. Detailed descriptions of application database tables and tips on creating custom reports are in the Data Dictionary for Centricity Electronic Medical Record Reports available at http://centricitypractice.gehealthcare.com.
Converting custom reports to Crystal Reports® v11.5 For this release, reports included in Centricity EMR and database management reports are written in Crystal Reports v11.5. You must use this version to modify them. Reports created or imported into Crystal Reports v10.0 should open in v11.5 without any issues. Do not open reports in versions higher than the recommended version. Once a report its opened in a later version it might not be compatible with the recommended version.
Of note... Crystal reports can be somewhat costly, but you can typically download a trial version to evaluate for a month or so... That can be helpful.

If that doesn't work, I think I have the older downloaded version I could try and send you. It's just the trial version from a while back, so nothing grey about sharing it.
